Robert Bristol
Founder/CEO
Your Pests Worst Nightmare
To become the head of the Pest Management Department on a luxury private island resort, is no easy feat, but one that Robert Bristol was able to accomplish at the tender age of 18. The ambitious, God-fearing young-man from Carriacou, turned an internship in landscaping on Calivigny Island, just after attaining an Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Science from the T.A Marryshow Community College, into a three-year position safeguarding the premises against pest. The achievement may seem extraordinary, but for Bristol, it was one that he had been groomed for from birth. Growing up humble in a modest home of ten, Bristol was charged from young with helping his mother earn revenue – whether through the sale of souvenirs to tourist after school or traveling from home to home selling produce from the family’s garden, or pastries form their kitchen. The experience is one that moulded Bristol into a diligent hard worker – a work ethic he amplifies in his role as founder and CEO of Bristol’s Pest.
When his services at Calivigny Island were no longer needed, Bristol took the road less travelled by most his age. Instead of seeking out employment elsewhere, an ambitious Bristol sought to establish his own landscaping and pest control company. The road was rough; however, weeks of handing out business cards at the busy St. George’s bus terminal, would eventually materialise. Bristol’s strategic, bespoke approach to pest control, created lasting impressions, on earlier clients. This strategy, coupled with his unwavering desire to improve the standard of living of his clients helped to grow Bristol’s business by way of referrals.
Today, the technician, who possesses a pest control certificate and license from the government has managed pest problems for the government of Grenada, popular restaurants, hotels and private residences. In his command, Bristol manages a team of six – most of whom come trained in specific interest areas, but all of whom he continues to train in industry best practices. Integral in his training is the importance of safety and the role of the client and his/her wellbeing. As for staying relevant, Bristol ensures that the company stays abreast with chemical treatments on the international market and with case studies published by reputable industry leaders.
